Do you want to be able to take incoming email activities from your Outlook Web App to Microsoft Dynamics CRM? If you are already using CRM online, and you installed the CRM Online 2015 Update 1, you can use the CRM App for Outlook to connect all the dots.

CRM App for Outlook is an easy to use app for Office that you can use in combination with Outlook Web App that is included with Office 365 or Outlook 2013 – the desktop app. When you install the app, CRM data will be shown inline next to your Outlook email messages.

When using Dynamics CRM App for Outlook, you have the capabilities of CRM while you are working in a comfortable Outlook environment. Here are a few things you can do:

  • See information about contact and leads that are in CRM. You can find their phone number or the company name for a contact or lead, see the last and next activities for contacts and leads, or see related records.

  • You can open CRM right from the app to find out more information about an account or contact.

  • Track incoming emails, and if you like, you can link emails to existing records in CRM. For instance, you might be interested in connecting an email to a certain account or opportunity.

  • If a record isn’t already created, you can create it in the app.

  • Find out whether an email is tracked already and change the record.

  • Create a contact or lead for people on your “From” list if they aren’t in the database yet.

We hope you enjoy the new CRM App for Outlook as much as we do! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at Logan Consulting, your Microsoft Dynamics CRM partner in Chicago.
