Case Study: Picking and Shipping Project Success Story | Valmont North American Irrigation
Speakers: Josh Encarnation | Valmont Industries & Shelton King | Logan Consulting
Valmont North American Irrigation, about 6-12 months after an upgrade to QAD EE 2018, was experiencing some post-upgrade challenges primarily around their picking and shipping functions. These challenges included system performance of transactions, an inefficient picking process, and supply chain inventory challenges that had a negative effect on on-time delivery performance and capacity. With a distribution network stretching across the country and on average 300 lines per sales order to pick, the impact was felt by all sites, employees, and most importantly the customers.
Join us for this case study as we tell the story of how the Valmont Irrigation business leadership began a cycle of continuous improvement activities to increase operational efficiencies. Through a series of cross functional, business led, IT supported value stream mapping and Kaizen events, the results four months later are across-the-board improved KPI metrics, more responsive end point technologies, and teams built to adapt more efficiently to external factors such as supply chain, customer demands and labor constraints.
