Three Ways Acumatica Reimagined ERP Systems, Part II

Posted on: March 13, 2024 | By: Page Wildridge | Acumatica

Two months ago we covered three key ways Acumatica Reimagined ERP Systems. Now it is time for Part II of how Acumatica Reimagined ERP Systems. To recap Acumatica is a leading cloud based, mid-market ERP system. Acumatica was first introduced in 2008 and really started to gain steam in 2010. So how did Acumatica arrive on the scene almost 20 years later and become one of the leading and fastest growing cloud ERP solutions?

Here are three more examples……

Ease of Configuration, Integration and Customization

Acumatica (and most ERP systems) do a lot of things well. However, no system is perfect and there is sometimes a need to customize, configure or integrate an ERP solution. Acumatica has made creating customizations, integrations, and configurations easy. One of the best ways to configure Acumatica is via Attributes.  Check out this article to learn more.

Most ERP systems require complex customizations to even add fields but with the use of Attributes you can easily add fields and define appropriate values for fields and even make an Attribute required. Acumatica has Import and Export Scenarios for integrating data and of course a full API. Allowing companies to easily configure and customize an ERP solution is a novel approach!

Helpful Help

The link above about Attributes is directly from the Acumatica Wiki and help. Most ERP Systems have cryptic help or worse, non-existent documentation. With Acumatica not only do they have great help, but they also have Acumatica Open University. Acumatica Open University provides full documentation on the solution even to non-customers. You can also download, free of charge, a trial (2 user) version of Acumatica to review and learn about Acumatica. Most ERP solutions restrict access to their solution to non-clients. Acumatica realized they have a great solution, and the more people know about it the better!

Accessibility and Mobility

Acumatica has always been a cloud-based solution. In addition, Acumatica was built from the ground up on the cloud and for use via a browser or phone/mobile device. Because of this Acumatica has always been anywhere, anytime, any device. That may seem commonplace now but when Acumatica was released in 2010 it was not. Acumatica has always been a device, browser and platform agnostic and continues to lead in this area. Whether you have an Android device, iPhone or iPad they all work with Acumatica out of the box. In fact, we have clients using inexpensive Android devices to run the bar coding of their warehouse!

Next Steps

So, as I mentioned Acumatica didn’t invent some crazy new technology, but they did reimagine ERP systems. If you want to learn more about Acumatica and how it may be able to drive efficiency in your business, feel free to contact us.
