Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations takes the user experience (UX) to the next level. D365FO gives users the functionality they need in real time making their system unique. Personalization can happen in three ways with D365FO. First, users can make personalizations on the setup page. Users can also implement implicit and explicit personalizations to create a software tailored to their needs.

1. System-Wide Personalizations

These personalizations pertain to visual, preferential, account, and workflow personalizations. Users can choose a color scheme and decide on the sizes of elements on pages. Users can also set default objectives that will remain in Finance and Operations every time they open the software. Account and workflow personalization is also a benefit to D365FO, creating efficiency and routine.

2. Implicit Personalizations

Implicit personalizations are used to “remember” page usage. Within implicit personalizations, users can adjust column and grid widths as well as continue to use the same FastTabs on pages. Other personalizations that make the UX more significant is the ability to expand and contract Fact Boxes, Action Panes, and pinning the navigation pane.

3. Explicit Personalizations

It is important for organizations to review what data is important to review within their ERP software. In Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, users have access to sift through data that is crucial for their business. Shortcut menu options (or context menu) makes it easy to add or hide columns. Within the shortcut menu, users can also change element labels and prevent data from being edited. The personalization toolbar and personalization tools includes the ability to change elements, edit, and hide data for users.

Personalization makes the UX efficient to use and understand. Within D365 for Finance and Operations, users are also able to share their personalizations. The option for administrator privileges guarantees that users’ personalizations are being maintained and remain useful. Personalizing your ERP system can bring your organization many benefits and reduce stress.
