The Midwest User Group held its annual spring conference in Dearborn, MI this past March. The MWUG Conference provides an environment for QAD vendors, service providers and users to share and exchange information, attracting over 200 attendees from Manufacturing and Distribution companies across the US.

During the conference attendees have the opportunity to attend speaker sessions designed around specific topics related to the QAD ERP Application. Logan Consulting led 3 sessions centered on Item Substitution, Processing Intercompany Orders in EE and a QXtend Excelerator Demonstration.

A summary of each presentation is below along with feedback results from attendees.

Session 1: Item Substitution, Cross-Sell and Up-sell Functionality

Speaker: Andrew Hall, Principal

This session focused on introducing the Item Replacement, Cross-Sell and Up-Sell functionality that was introduced in EE. Each option was described in detail, including relative scenarios and use cases for each.

Session 2: Demonstration – QXtend Excelerator

Speaker: James Blakenship, Principal

This session demonstrated how to use QAD's Qxtend Excelerator tool. The Excelerator tool allows users to query data from the QAD application, import the data into Microsoft Excel, make changes, and post the changes back to QAD. The session provided attendees with a live demonstration where they did some basic configuration of Qxtend, built an Excelerator template, query data, load data and built Qxtend Business Objects to support Excelerator. While this session did have a technical focus, functional users will also gained insight on how Excelerator may be used in their environments.

Session 3: Processing Intercompany Orders in Enterprise Edition (EE)

Speaker: Brian Clark, Principal

The Processing Intercompany Orders in Enterprise Edition (EE) session pertained to processing intercompany orders for those clients that benefit from a true buy/sell relationship between their QAD facilities. The session focused on the utilization of Release Management eCommerce and automation opportunities in EE Financials to process orders from forecast to intercompany payment.
