Management Reporter – FAQ Document

Posted on: July 8, 2010 | By: SuperUser Account | Microsoft Dynamics GP

We have been receiving a number of questions with regard to Management Reporter. Management Reporter is Microsoft’s new financial reporting tool that will replace FRx.

FRx has been the main financial reporting tool for creating financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets for many years. Microsoft has introduced Management Reporter which I have to say is a much nicer tool!

The same functionality that people like about FRx has been kept, but Management Reporter has a far superior architecture so integrating with Excel, SharePoint and SQL Reporting Services is much better. The general design and layout has been improved to reduce FRx’s “quirkiness”

There is an FAQ document that you can download here. Some of the highlights include:

  • Support for FRx is expected to end in 2012. Nothing official, but that is the expected timeframe at this point.
  • Management Reporter supports Microsoft Dynamics GP today. Support should be added for Microsoft Dynamics AX in the second half of 2010.
  • No future enhancements will be made to FRx, however service packs will be added so if there is a bug or known issue it will be fixed.

Feel free to contact us with questions or if you want information about migrating reports or how FRx licenses will transfer to Management Reporter licenses.
