Dynamics 365 CRM and the Power of the Platform

Posted on: August 23, 2021 | By: Jim Bertler | Microsoft Dynamics CRM

When you use Microsoft Dynamics Customer Engagement (CE) in an insurance environment, you can leverage many functionalities that come with a related family of products called the Power Platform.

These additional products include:

  •       Power Automate – Automation across for entire Microsoft product line and beyond
  •       Power BI (Business Intelligence and Analytics)
  •       Power Admin – Centralized Admin of Entire Power Platform
  •       Power Apps – Low code way to build custom apps that work with CRM

Let’s begin with a few examples of tools available within D365 Customer Engagement that help automate common functions and can be easily managed by a system administrator. One of the most common automation is the use of built-in workflow functions to send email alerts and notifications.

One good example is policy renewals. In addition to being able to quickly report on renewals for the next thirty, sixty , or ninety days in D365 Customer Engagement, an email alert can be easily set-up to provide notifications to agents or brokers about upcoming renewals for policies.

Another example is the use of email notifications for customer service issues. The case management functionality built into D365 Customer Engagement allows cases to be created to track customer issues or questions. Email notifications are sent to notify the client or policy holder who will be handling the issue as well as the providing of a reference number to refer to for further questions. This can all be automated using built-in workflows, or in more complex scenarios – using Power Automate.

These are just a few examples of what makes D365 Customer Engagement such a flexible platform that easily adapts to your changing business needs.
