Biggest Benefit of Cloud Accounting Software

Logan Consulting is a Chicago based Intacct Partner and we have worked in the ERP and Accounting Software field for over twenty years.  Like you we have seen a number of articles about the “Top 5 Benefits of Cloud Accounting Software” or “Top Three Reasons to Consider the Cloud”.  In fact, we have even written articles of this nature.

However, an interesting topic came up during a recent meeting regarding Intacct. The question posed by the prospect was “What do you feel is the biggest benefit of Cloud Accounting Software?”  To be sure there are many benefits, but this prospect was interested in our thoughts on the single biggest benefit.

After giving it some thought my answer was simply “Focus”.  A Cloud Based Accounting Software solution allows a business to focus on their core competency and not be concerned with the latest patch or update for their system.  A company can simply focus on their core business and let the order processing, accounting, cash collection, check cutting, etc. proceed on their normal path. 

Gone are the days of waiting for a software vendor to update their system to be compatible with yours or waiting for a “convenient” time to upgrade.  We find that companies benefit from not having to worry about a server upgrade or the IT department putting the accounting department on their schedule.
