Update on Channel Islands from Midwest User Group

At the QAD Midwest User Group, QAD shared an update on its Channel Islands initiative.  Channel Islands is QAD’s new User Interface initiative, one that has been met with great anticipation. The improvements in user experience appear to be coming to fruition, what excited the attendees we spoke to most was the ability for end users to control the User Interface.  Specifically, Channel Islands provides users with a true API.  A few folks mentioned that the true separation of business logic and User interface is way more efficient.  Instead of using a tool like QXtend to perform mass dataloads, with Channel Islands, if a user makes a data entry, they can now correct just the error itself.

In addition to the true API, Channel Islands dramatically improves the user experience as well.  It comes with a library of Business Functions, Browses and Reports, all represented in a 21st Century manner.  It is still only available as a Cloud offering, but in speaking with QAD, they are well aware of the need to make this available for On Premise clients as well.  Until now, QAD’s User Interface has tended to lag the industry. Channel Islands elevates QAD in this area to where they can now compete with virtually any ERP user experience.
