How to Optimize Your Business Event Notifications with Acumatica 2020 R2

In an increasingly digital economy, it is important that companies have the resources needed to efficiently handle their virtual and in-person business events. Often, companies face problems regarding their system’s business events notifications, such as having two separate notifications for the same event, which interferes with the business’ ability to track real-time data and optimize event scheduling. Fortunately, Acumatica‘s latest update, 2020 R2, provides a solution to this problem.

Released last September, the newest version of Acumatica offers unified notifications for business events. Previously, users would receive two different notifications from separate engines for events such as sales and purchase orders. Now, Acumatica 2020 R2 provides a consolidated notification engine under one standard feature, “Business Events.” This exciting new feature allows users to send emails related to sales and purchase orders and send push notifications or text messages from the same page. This upgrade also automatically migrated old business events and added the option to control which reports are attached to emails generated by notification templates based on performed actions. Below, we will provide a short demonstration of how to utilize the new unified notifications for business events.

Under Purchase Orders, users will see the new “Business Events” icon that has replaced the old “Notifications” tab.

Clicking on the Business Events tab allows users to set up a mechanism that sends a specific message if a certain event occurs in Acumatica.

Once the event ID is selected, users will see the Business Events page. Under the Subscribers tab, users can set up customized email, text, or push notifications, as shown below.
