Dynamics 365: Release Enhancements Plan November 2021

The 2021 release wave plan for Dynamics 365 brings new innovations that provide you with significant capabilities to transform your business. This month’s release contains the following exciting new features in Dynamics 365 for Finance & Supply Chain Management for these apps: Finance, Supply Chain Management, Guides, and Project Operations. 

Dynamics 365 Finance drives automation and predictive analytics capabilities. 

  • New Feature: Edit Asset leasing journals
    • Business Value: makes it easier to capture vendor invoices on lease payment transactions, while also providing flexibility to edit certain fields on an Asset leasing journal before posting
      • Details: lets you edit specific fields in Asset leasing journals
  • New Feature: Invoice automation – apply prepayments to vendor invoices automatically
    • Business Value: saves effort by your accounting staff and can help reduce errors that can occur when processing information manually
      • Details: lets the system apply prepayments to vendor invoices automatically
  • New Feature: Prevent automatic one-voucher usage in fixed assets
    • Business Value: helps ensure that fixed assets don’t require, or enable, multiple transactions in the same voucher in the general ledger
      • Details: ensures that fixed-asset transactions won’t use the same voucher number for depreciation adjustments when splitting or disposing of an asset, or when recording catch-up depreciation
  • New Feature: Reopen lease book status
    • Business Value: no longer have to create a new lease contract for an extended lease contract
      • Details: with this enhancement, if you have a lease book that is closed, you can now reopen it
  • New Feature: Electronic reporting – enhanced parameters per legal entity
    • Business Value: allows business users to more quickly update the setup or find any issues with the existing setup
      • Details: includes added validation when parameters or lookup conditions are missing, automatic generation of conditions, and export from and import to Microsoft Excel for conditions
