Summary

Logan Consulting helps a luxury winter apparel company implement custom, advanced security for the company’s Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 system to support SOX compliance.

The Client

Our client is a Toronto, ON based organization and was founded in 1957. The Canadian manufacturer produces arctic luxury jackets/parkas and additional outdoor apparel. They have over 500 employees. On March 16, 2017, the company went public and had their IPO on the New York Stock Exchange.

The Opportunity

In preparation for the upcoming IPO, the client needed to ensure that their internal controls and security were in SOX compliance. Logan Consulting was selected to map out their security requirements, update their security model, and implement segregation of duties so that their AX system would be compliant by SOX guidelines.

The Logan Consulting Solution

After some initial scoping was completed, Logan Consulting came up with 10 custom security roles to satisfy end user business processes and, most importantly, follow SOX compliance. The new roles provided proper segregation of duties without interruption of day-to-day business activities of their 150+ users.

The Results

Advanced security was implemented, tested and validated in the AX system.

  • Security model updated to support SOX compliance
  • Segregation of duties implemented
  • 10 customized security roles created
  • Documentation of the end-to-end process
  • Changes to the TFS instance were documented and follow SOX compliances
