Using Configurable Screens in the QAD EE Financial Modules

Posted on: May 24, 2017 | By: Andy Vitullo | QAD Financials

Embedded in QAD EE financial modules is software functionality that provides the ability to customize data input screens.  At a basic level, this tool allows screen customizations that can simplify data entry by removal of fields, turning fields to non-editable fields, or defaulting data to fields based business logic developed during the design phase of an implementation.

At a more sophisticated level, the tool levers role based security.  The role based security function can help support segregation of duty requirements by providing access to certain fields and removing access to other fields.

If your implementation requires screen customizations in the financial modules, you must consider role based security access to “create menus” versus “modify menus” to support the segregation of duty requirements.

Our Logan Consultants have designed screens to support segregation of duty requirements for processes including:

·       Supplier and Customer Creation.

·       Supplier and Customer Modification.

·       Online approval of non-purchase order supplier invoices.

Configurable screen customizations will enhance the tool to support your defined business processes.  These configurable screens should be considered during your business process design phase of your QAD Enterprise Edition implementation.
