Dynamics 365 App for Outlook
For years Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales has helped salespeople and executives improve outreach to prospects and clients. One of the most important parts of efficient communication between a sales team and their clients and prospects was the use of Outlook. To date, Microsoft has used an Outlook Client that had to be installed on each machine. However, Microsoft is now deprecating that tool and all users will now use the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook.
The Dynamics 365 App for Outlook will allow users to work in Outlook and access their CRM information. Email chains can be tagged to accounts, contacts, opportunities or any other record in the system. In addition, calendar activity (meetings) can be tagged to any record in the system. This will allow users to see who they are contacting regularly and maybe more importantly who is being forgotten.
Works on Any Device
The Dynamics 365 App for Outlook will work on any device. With adopting this App, you can take advantage of a Unified Interface framework, which uses responsive web design principals, so you get an optimal viewing and interaction experience for any screen size, device or orientation. Essentially, this means it will work on any device (phone, tablet, computer). It also includes global search or multi-entry search which allows a user to search for a keyword in multiple entities at the same time. It also offers the ability to view and edit forms (accounts, contacts, etc.) in the same way across all devices and platforms.
One of the biggest obstacles to a successful CRM implementation is user adoption. However, the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales working on any device and is completely integrated with Outlook. Therefore, the user is working the same way they always did. The advantage is that they are now using the CRM system and sharing information across the organization to allow for better collaboration and increasing the chance of winning deals!
So, the Outlook Client will be removed but the new Dynamics 365 Sales App for Outlook has replaced it and it is a far better solution.
