Impact on Dynamics GP From New Microsoft Security Policy

Posted on: May 24, 2022 | By: Rosie Gill | Microsoft Dynamics GP

Microsoft recently announced that starting October 2022, security changes will be applied to Office 365, replacing basic authentication with the more modern system Exchange Online in order to protect Office 365 from potential attacks.

GP users should be aware that this change will impact the email and workflow functionality of those on older versions of Dynamics GP. Specifically, Dynamics GP 18.2 and older versions will be affected by the change in authentication.

The impact will be felt in email correspondence, namely, because they will no longer be able to communicate with those using Exchange. This means that any messages, like those regarding orders or invoices, will not be received.

In order to ensure that workflow is not disrupted, it is recommended that GP users on older versions upgrade their systems as soon as possible.
