How safe is your Dynamics 365 data in the cloud?

You have finally made it to the last part of our three part mini-series on data storage within the cloud. If you haven’t read parts one or two, feel free to read through them before starting on this one. This final blog hopes to clarify the common concern about how safe data in the cloud really is.

It might come as a surprise, but your data will almost certainly be safer at a Microsoft data center than it would on your own servers. Microsoft has the ability to invest over $1 billion each year in improvements on security and privacy measures, and this is something most businesses are not setup to do. Any unauthorized traffic attempting to access Dynamics 365 is blocked at the data centers, which are tested, validated, and updated continuously to ensure there are no cracks through which suspicious users can access your software. Microsoft’s high-end anti-malware software detects and protects against cyber threats or intrusions.

At the users’ side, role-based security is in place to manage access and activity within the software, with users only granted permissions that are necessary for their particular job role. This guarantees that users are not able to access any data or processes that the administration has not deemed essential to carrying out their duties and restricts the viewing of critical business data to those with the appropriate clearance.
