EQT Partners Acquires Acumatica

Posted on: July 17, 2019 | By: Jim Bertler | Acumatica

The last few weeks have certainly been an interesting time to be an Acumatica partner based in Chicago. Acumatica was acquired by EQT Partners, which is a private equity company. EQT is also the owner of IFS, an ERP software. Soon, Acumatica and IFS will become sister companies and after speaking with people from Acumatica, they are very excited about the opportunities that are to come.

Greater Resources

Acumatica now has the global resources of IFS, as well as a stronger financial backing. Acumatica has been one of the fastest-growing cloud ERP solutions over the last several years and with that growth comes the need for continued investment in terms of capital and R&D. This acquisition by EQT Partners and becoming a sister company with IFS certainly offers all of the resources that Acumatica needs to continue to grow, and even accelerate the growth that they’ve had.

Acumatica’s Independence

An important thing to point out is what won’t happen with this acquisition. From speaking with folks, it has become clear that Acumatica is not going to be taken over by IFS. Acumatica’s approach, high focus on functionality, and usability that it has within the software market, will not change moving forward.

Our Take on the Acquisition

The last thing I wanted to point out is what we do at Logan Consulting, an Acumatica partner based in Chicago. We are thrilled with the acquisition of Acumatica by EQT because we believe it gives Acumatica a great growth potential. It will accelerate the development of the solutions, giving large companies comfort as they look to invest in an ERP solution. Previously, they may not have heard of Acumatica, but being acquired by EQT, and becoming a sister company to IFS, will lend more name recognition to the Acumatica solution. If you would like to discuss the Acumatica Acquisition further, feel free to contact Logan Consulting.
