Dynamics GP Bridge to the Cloud

Posted on: September 18, 2022 | By: Jim Bertler | Microsoft Dynamics GP

Microsoft Dynamics GP has been a commonly used ERP by small and midsized companies for decades. The solution has built up a reputation for reliability over the years and functions on-premises. However, as technology becomes more innovative, we are seeing a shift towards cloud-based ERP solutions.

Microsoft provides support for all of their different products, but the company recently announced that Dynamics GP users will not receive support via the Modern Lifecycle Policy past 2028. This leaves GP users asking the question of what to do next.

While current users do have the option of simply remaining with the same software, this is not recommended. You won’t be receiving any upgrades to match the ever changing modern market, and it will become more difficult to integrate third-party applications to Dynamics GP.

Users do have the opportunity to transition over to Microsoft’s cloud-based ERP Business Central using the Bridge to the Cloud Promotion. This allows GP users to use both GP and Business Central simultaneously for four years, with licenses that are sold on a monthly basis. This gives organizations ample time to learn the new software and transfer over any pertinent company data.

The Bridge to the Cloud Promotion is a great opportunity for companies looking to keep up with market trends and demands.
