Upcoming QAD Production Orders eliminate many implementation questions

QAD is currently in the process of rolling out Production Orders into the standard software offering. This new functionality is meant to combine the features of Advanced Repetitive and Discrete Work Orders into a single module and set of supporting maintenance and transaction screens. Having implemented QAD since 1993, I have seen countless projects where a client could use individual features of each to great effect, but we would ultimately have to compromise on one approach versus the other since they didn’t interact. Additionally, where clients were truly mixed mode, the training of users was problematic since the two modules had completely different transaction sets. The new Production Order features seem to address both of these issues. Additionally, more advanced features around allocations, backflushing, etc., are included. Though not yet in general release, this new module is a great addition to QAD.
