QAD Training at MWUG this September – Manufacturing Execution

Posted on: June 24, 2016 | By: Craig Thompson | QAD Practice News

Do you have ERP user on your team asking if you can configure QAD differently to support a business process a little more efficiently?   Are you in a repetitive environment now and wondering if changing to a discrete work orders, or a mix mode environment, would unlock value for your company?  If so, you may want to consider a unique training event Logan Consulting is hosting immediately after the Midwest User Group (MWUG) conference this Fall, in Sandusky (OH) on September 20th and 21st.

End Game

The goal of the training is to take a deep dive into Production Execution functionality within QAD so attendees can understand all the relevant processes and transactions for both discrete Work Orders and Advanced Repetitive manufacturing and how they can be applied to different manufacturing environments. The training will touch on key process requirements that drive the discrete vs. repetitive decision and then how each is setup and transacted at the QAD program level. We will be reviewing transactions that impact inventory, labor, and exception processing such as scrap and rework. It is important to note that this training is focused purely on execution and will not address scheduling functionality such as that provided by MSW/PSW.  The main topics covered are as follows:

  • Item and Master Data Setup
  • Product Structures
  • Work Centers and Routings
  • Work Order Processing
  • Work Order Release through Work Order Close
  • Monitoring Reports and Variance Analysis
  • Advanced Repetitive Processing
  • Incremental Advanced Repetitive Setups
  • Repetitive Schedule through Backflush
  • Monitoring Reports and Variance Analysis
