QAD EA B2B and B2C Portal Interest Increases

Logan Consulting has seen an increase in interest from companies who use QAD Enterprise Applications (QAD EA) in the development of B2B and B2C portals for customer use. Interest stems from automating existing manual order entry transactions to providing an easier way for customers to interact with their QAD EA using supplier. QAD Inc. provides an off the shelf solution in Customer Self Service (CSS), which is used by many of its customers who would like to provide simple and easily integrated order processing for its customers, usually in a B2B model. Limitations of how slick the customer experience will be with CSS often drive companies to consider developing their own portal front end, which provides more flexibility to enhance the user experience, but requires custom integration to QAD EE or QAD SE. This integration is often handled by QXtend. QXtend is a software offering from QAD Inc. which consists of four components: QDocs for integration data-mapping; QXtend Inbound for inbound data delivery; QXtend Outbound for outbound data delivery; and QXtend Query Service for real time access to QAD Enterprise Application data. Be it CSS or a custom portal, companies need to consider the custom nature of internally developed portals against the less flashy, but proven integration of the existing CSS offering.
