Microsoft Dynamics GP – Print Any Report in Word

Logan Consulting provides GP support to large number of clients and we are often asked about the need or benefit to performing a Dynamics GP upgrade. Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 offers many new features and some are large improvements to functionality like workflow or purchase requisition. However, others are smaller items and just general improvements. Sometimes though these smaller features really add up and turn out to be big benefits to clients and I think this feature may be one.
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 will allow you to print any report to Word and users will be allowed to send any form or report using Word. So how do you accomplish this? In the Email Options form, you will have a .docx option. By choosing this option, Dynamics GP will send the report to Word.
The second key part to this is the Web Client which has been available since GP 2013 was released. The Web Client will automatically create a template and choose the template option. Unfortunately, on the desktop client, you have to create the template before sending via email. There will be a tool to generate the template, but it still is an extra step. So consider the web client for Dynamics GP 2013 as well.
