After a great Keynote Address by Darrell Finney of Fintek Consulting, Logan Consulting and other MWUG attendees focused on presentations on new QAD functionality and pertinent QAD related topics.

James Blankenship presented on EE Financial Customizations. The session was a 'How To', focusing on how to use the financial API’s in EE to add custom fields, add validation to a field, and how to extract/query data from financial tables.

Andy Vitullo of Logan Consulting presented on Deploying Segregation of Duties (SOD) Along With Role-Based Security to Ensure SOX Compliance. The session discussed business and key configuration requirements as well as deployment recommendations for SOD functionality within QAD. Additionally, the session discussed the SOD conflict matrix, SOD conflict exceptions and SOD mitigating controls that will be required based on your organizational resource mix. Andy and other at Logan have had great success implementing SOD Compliance in QAD with our clients.

Brian Clark of Logan Consulting and Bill Foard of Inventus presented a case study on a recent upgrade from QAD 2011SE to QAD 2016EE. Inventus Power recently completed a project to replace all existing QAD 2011SE functionality with the comparable functions in QAD 2016EE. The scope involved a re-design and re-implementation of financial functionality and supporting master data. Non-financial processes were implemented as close to ‘as is’ as possible. The project was completed on time and on budget and the company now has a core model it can leverage for other sites/locations. This session summarized the upgrade project, including key activities and lessons learned.
