Excel Integration/Import in QAD

Posted on: February 3, 2023 | By: Emily Aro | QAD Business Process

Overview

Excel Integration, also referred to as Excel Imports depending on your version of QAD, allows you to easily create and edit large numbers of records creating.  You can quickly make changes to entire data sets rather than having to individually edit the records. This blog will cover how Excel Integration/Import in QAD can benefit you and your company along with where it is available.

How Can Excel Integration Benefit You?

To better understand the capabilities of Excel Integration, below are a few examples of how it can be useful:

Opening a New Bank

Suppliers and customers are both linked to Company banks.  If you switch banks, you can use Excel Integration to update all of the banking information at once rather than modifying each relationship.

Budgets

Accountants love Excel, and that’s where we find most store their budget drafts.  Excel Integration makes it easy to load the entire budget into QAD at one time so it can be used for analysis and reporting.

Changes to Product Structure

If the widget you’ve used to make half of your products is suddenly obsolete, you may find you have hundreds of product structures to update.  You can export product structures, add an expiration date to your old widget, add a row for your new widget, and import it back into QAD.

Below is a list of where Excel Integration is available in QAD:
