Dynamics 365: Release Enhancements Plan July 2022

The 2022 release wave plan for Dynamics 365 brings new innovations that provide you with significant capabilities to transform your business. This month’s release contains the following exciting new features in Dynamics 365 for Finance & Supply Chain Management for these apps: Finance, Supply Chain Management, Guides, and Project Operations. 

Dynamics 365 Finance drives automation and predictive analytics capabilities. 

  • New Feature: Allow recovery of bank reconciliation worksheets stuck in workflow

    • Business Value: resets the status of bank reconciliation worksheets that are stuck in workflow
      • Details: Users can check workflow history in the Bank reconciliation journal to locate the lines that are in an Unrecoverable status.
  • New Feature: Budget control document filtering enhancement

    • Business Value: helps users have more granular control on what documents are included in the budget control checks during processing
      • Details: introduces the ability to specify which budget control documents are budget checked by providing a query-based filter option for each budget control document included.
  • New Feature: General ledger year-end enhancements – specify balance sheet dimensions and year-end close micro-service

    • Business Value: comprises a number of enhancements that improve performance during the year-end close process.
      • Details: Allows you to specify balance sheet financial dimensions in detail when you close a year and improves overall performance so that the year-end close process runs more efficiently.
  • New Feature: Option to display main account category on trial balance

    • Business Value: you can use the grouping functionality within the grid to group and total main accounts within each category.
      • Details: allows you to add the main account category as a column on the Trial balance list page.
  • New Feature: Reverse correction amount in advanced bank reconciliation

    • Business Value: allows reverse correction amounts in advanced bank reconciliation.
      • Details: Reverse reconciled bank accounts or you can enter a correction amount in a bank statement.

Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management obtains a unified view of inventory, warehouse, manufacturing, service, and logistics with predictive analytics.

  • New Feature: Enhanced warehouse execution workloads on scale units

    • Business Value: companies can increase the resilience of their mission-critical warehouse processes.
      • Details: improve the ability of these workloads to fulfill organizations’ growing requirements
  • New Feature: Inventory allocation for the Inventory Visibility Add-in

    • Business Value: lets you pre-allocate available inventory to make sure you can fulfill orders for key channels or accounts
      • Details: allows you to set aside dedicated inventory to make sure you can fulfill your most profitable channels or customers.
  • New Feature: Planning Optimization support for capable-to-promise (CTP)

    • Business Value: enables manufacturers to provide their customers with reliable order-promising dates directly from the sales order.
      • Details: improves performance and scalability with in-memory processing, minimizes system impact on other processes made possible by running master planning as a separate service, and has near real-time insights into requirement changes, achieved by running master planning several times daily during office hours.
