QAD Cloud Services

QAD Cloud is a Software as a Service (SaaS) option for deployment of QAD Enterprise Applications. With QAD Cloud, customers gain access to an instance of QAD Enterprise Applications that QAD manages and supports. The customer pays a subscription fee for each user plus monthly fees for optional elements such as Enhanced Disaster Recovery.

Is QAD Cloud appropriate for you?  Well, just like there are different kinds of clouds, there are different cloud fits.  Whether the cloud is appropriate depends on your circumstances, including your size/complexity, functionality needed and industry-specific compliance requirements.

When the cloud might be problematic:

                  • Large, complex existing system
                  • Older existing system – bigger upgrade effort
                  • Many interfaces to other systems
                  • Possible issues with ITAR compliance

When the cloud might be a good decision:

                  • Existing system relatively current
                  • Business is less complex or has internal resources to handle upgrade and move to cloud effort
                  • Fewer interfaces to other systems
                  • No existing infrastructure (or partially/fully depreciated)

Logan Consulting would also argue it depends on a proper cost/benefit analysis.

  • Costs:
    • Cash costs can include the cloud upgrade/implementation & higher cloud services fees.
    • Non-cash costs can include your internal peoples’ time and possible project disruption to your business.
  • Benefits:
    • Cash benefits can include the cash savings of reduced infrastructure & IT people costs.
    • Non-cash benefits can include such things as more reliable IT service and better cybersecurity protection.

Again, it depends on your business, and we’re happy to give you the benefit of our many years of experience helping clients navigate these decisions.
