Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2: New Feature – Auto Deposit

As you know, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 just recently released R2. There are tons of exciting new features, and it may also be important for you to brush up on the system requirements to make sure you are all set to go to use the most recently released version.


Before the new version, in Microsoft Dynamics GP, the GP user needed to have Analytical Accounting installed on their machine to use the Auto Deposit feature.

Thanks to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2, the user can use the Auto Deposit feature without the Analytical Accounting installment as it is no longer necessary. This new update is particularly helpful because it allows for cash receipts to be entered in the Receivables Management to instantly update the checkbook balance as soon as the cash receipt is entered. This means that it is no longer necessary to post the cash receipt again in the Bank Deposit Entry (Transactions >> Financial >> Bank Deposits) in Bank Reconciliation if you make sure to choose this option.

We like it – a time saver that improves your operations and insures more accuracy in your work. Here is a quick run through of how to setup the the Auto Deposit Functionality.


  1. In Dynamics GP 2015 R2, go to the company setup window (Administration >> Setup >> Company >> Company >> Options)

  2. Click the box next to ‘Automatically post cash receipt deposits’ and this will enable the Auto Deposit functionality.

  3. Click ‘OK’ to save the changes.
