Microsoft Dynamics GP Reporting and New Licensing

Posted on: September 15, 2010 | By: SuperUser Account | Microsoft Dynamics GP

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 was released in May of 2010. One of questions we often receive is “What functionality has been added in the new release”? The biggest addition has been in the area of reporting.

It is now far simpler to gather information for metrics, dashboards and publish that information to users including non-GP users. One of the best ways to do this is via “Refreshable Excel” reports. This functionality was available in GP 10 and we continue to push clients to utilize this functionality. Often times data is “locked” in GP and not shared with other users. However, with Refreshable Excel reports you can unleash the knowledge and power of GP!

As I mentioned you can share this information with GP users and more importantly non-GP users. Microsoft has added some new licensing options for Microsoft Dynamics GP Light Users so users can get critical information from the system without logging into GP. We will have more information in the coming weeks on the licensing changes and will be doing a webinar showing the new functionality. In the meantime, please contact us directly with any questions.
