Microsoft Dynamics GP in the Cloud

Microsoft Dynamics GP. Should it be done in The Cloud or On-Premises? I have blogged and written newsletter articles about this in the past, but we seem to talk about it almost daily with clients and prospects so I thought it would be helpful to cover again. First, the most important fact. Microsoft Dynamics GP can be setup in any way a client wants. It can be completely hosted in the cloud, installed completely on-premises or what is referred to as a private cloud or hybrid environment where licenses are purchased, but the infrastructure and server environment is hosted in a data center.

Another important thing to understand is that the user experience will be exactly the same regardless of the deployment method. Logan Consulting is a Chicago based Microsoft Dynamics GP Partner and Reseller and has clients using each of these options.

At Logan Consulting we believe the most important item to consider is the business process improvement and the reasons you want to use Microsoft Dynamics GP and the business benefit. We think the deployment option while important to consider shouldn’t drive the decision. Some software companies and even Microsoft partners want you to believe either the cloud is the only way to go or the “wrong” way to go. Logan Consulting believes, again, it is about business benefit and business process improvement, not about deployment options.

Lastly, as I mentioned above Logan Consulting is a Microsoft Dynamics GP Partner and Reseller based in Chicago. So if you do want to consider cloud options and are based in the Chicago area, the cloud doesn’t have to be through a non-local resource which is often a concern. We can provide the same great support and GP implementation services whether in the cloud or not.
