Large Sage VAR Closes

Posted on: August 3, 2009 | By: SuperUser Account | Logan Consulting News

This story came out a few weeks ago, but I didn’t have time to discuss it immediately. One of the largest Sage VARs closed a few weeks ago without warning. It is certainly a shame for the people who worked there who by all accounts didn’t have any warning.

What is also troubling is for those still in the Sage channel and Sage customers. The channel is clearly struggling and Sage as a whole is struggling. It is certainly difficult in these economic times, but I think Sage’s lack of investment and vision is clearly coming back to haunt them.

At the Microsoft partner conference you could really get a feel for where Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Dynamics GP and SharePoint were headed. You also could see the commitment to the solutions and the commitment to research and development.

It will be interesting to see how things go for Sage long-term. For anyone who is a current Sage customer Microsoft does have some great incentives for companies who want to switch. Feel free to contact us.
