Keep Track of Revenue and Deals with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016

Keeping track of your potential revenue and open deals within Microsoft Dynamics CRM is very simple and easy to use in the new Dynamics CRM 2016 interface. You now have the ability to see the total of all revenue and opportunities at any account level.

Using the Hierarchy button to see Revenue and Deals

Say for example, you have a parent corporation with an office in Denver and Chicago. Your Denver office has two open opportunities for business, one for $500,000 and one for $750,000. Your Chicago office has one open opportunity, also for $750,000. You would like to see the total of these opportunities on the Parent Corporation account.

Using the Hierarchy ribbon button, you can see a rollup of all the revenue and deals in one place and at each account. Simply click the ellipsis button in the ribbon bar of your account form and then click the ‘View Hierarchy’ button. *Note this button will only be available when there is a Parent-Child account existing within the account. Next, you will see a screen that shows the parent-child account tree and the total revenue and deals at each account. Notice that the child accounts show 2 open deals at the Denver office worth a combined $1,250,000 and 1 open deal at the Chicago office worth $750,000. Then, notice that at the Parent Corporation it shows a total of 3 deals worth $2,000,000. This rollup comes out-of-the-box and requires no configuration.

Adding the Open Revenue and Open Deals field to your Account Form

Additionally, the fields on this screen for ‘Open Revenue’ and ‘Open Deals’ can be placed on your Account form for quick reference if you would like to avoid clicking the View Hierarchy button. Ask your System Administrator to add the Open Deals and Open Revenue fields onto the account form.

Once placed on the form, at a quick glance you can view how many opportunities exist and how much they are worth at each account. As you can see, the parent account main screen now shows there are three open deals worth $2,000,000
