Dynamics 365: Release Enhancements Plan May 2021

The 2021 release wave plan for Dynamics 365 brings new innovations that provide you with significant capabilities to transform your business. This month’s release contains the following exciting new features in Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations for these apps: Finance, Supply Chain Management, Guides, and Project Operations. 

Dynamics 365 Finance drives automation and predictive analytics capabilities. 

  • New Feature: Collections – interest note calculation based on number of days between due and payment date
    • Business Value: applies to all your commercial transactions with other businesses including sole traders, providing that they are acting in the course of their independent economic or professional activity, and public authorities
      • Details: interest calculation might use a formula of the rate, either annual or monthly, that is converted to daily rates, multiplied by the number of days elapsed between the due date and the settlement date
  • New Feature: Electronic invoicing for Dynamics 365
    • Business Value: by requiring organizations to digitally submit real-time tax information to tax authorities, governments are able to minimize tax evasion and manipulation, and reduce fraud
      • Details: you can use Electronic invoicing when you create and send electronic documents

Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management obtains a unified view of inventory, warehouse, manufacturing, service, and logistics with predictive analytics. 

  • New Feature: Inventory Visibility Add-in for Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
    • Business Value: enables organizations to maintain a single, global inventory position and easily extend real-time inventory visibility through related applications
      • Details: lets organizations manage global, on-hand inventory with minimal setup
