What’s New to GP?

Posted on: June 18, 2024 | By: Page Wildridge | Microsoft Dynamics GP

Microsoft releases yearly updates to their on-premise ERP solution, Dynamics GP, to help the software run more smoothly for users. In this blog, we will cover three new features within the year’s update that will help enhance the user experience.

1. Shared Mailbox with MultiFactor Authentication

You can now set up a Shared Mailbox for your Sales and Purchasing Email. This new feature helps users use a different mailbox for the two separate mails, while sent mail will be delivered from the same address. To set up this feature, navigate to your email settings within each mailbox, and select the new checkbox “Use Shared Mailbox”.

2. Fully Delete Document Attachments

Previously, when you deleted attachments to your records in GP, these files were moved to the Deleted tab. Now, you can permanently delete this information off of your GP, rather than manually deleting the attached record. To do so, change your settings within “Document Attachment Setup” to “allow attachments to be deleted,” and when you press delete, you can permanently delete the document.

3. Display Batch Source based on List Type

Previously, Microsoft added the filter on Batch Source functionality within the Navigation List. In the latest update, you can now filter even further by Batch Sources as well. The filter makes it easier for users to easily access the batch source information they need, rather than typing in the name of their source.
