Updates to Microsoft GP

Microsoft released the current version of Dynamics GP, GP 18.7, on October 2nd, 2024. Although Microsoft’s announcement about GP signals the end of the lifecycle of the software, the latest update includes security fixes and general improvements to the software. In this blog, we will cover these updates so you can stay in the know about your ERP.
Email RM Statement with Multicurrency and Expanded Form Options
The October 2024 release introduces an enhanced Print RM Statement functionality, offering greater flexibility for emailing statements. You can now email statements using forms other than the default Blank Form. When any form type is selected, both the Email Options and the Email ribbon action are enabled, streamlining the process.Additionally, Microsoft has two new statement templates, the RM and MC Statement Long form. These updates provide more options and improved usability for managing and emailing RM statements efficiently.
Mask Vendor Tax ID on 1099 Forms
The Print 1099 window now includes an option to mask a vendor’s Tax Identification Number (TIN). By selecting the checkbox, the 1099 form will display the TIN with the first five digits replaced by “X,” enhancing privacy and security. This feature ensures sensitive information is protected while maintaining compliance.
Reprint EFT Payment Register
A new feature has been added to the Purchasing Posting Journal Options report selection, allowing users to reprint the EFT Payment Register after posting a Payables batch. This enhancement simplifies recordkeeping and provides easy access to payment details when needed.

Microsoft GP s updates occur in October of each year. It is important to note that each of these updates include very small fixes. While these updates will continue until 2031, each newest update includes minor fixes to the software.
