Resource Mapping in AUX
Posted on: August 29, 2024 | By: Meaghan Andrews | QAD Business Process
QAD’s latest user interface is the web-based Adaptive UX, commonly referred to as AUX. This new interface is far more user friendly than the older .NET user interface. One of the common change management issues when implementing a new user interface is that long-term QAD users have memorized their commonly used menu names and numbers and many of these have changed in AUX. To help smooth this transition, QAD has developed functionality in AUX called Resource Mapping. In this blog, we discuss Resource Mapping and how it is used.
Resource mapping allows you to search apps in AUX by entering .NET screen names. The reverse is also true. The Resource Mapping functionality in QAD is a tool that creates a cross reference between menus used in the .NET interface and menus used in the AUX interface.
Resource Mapping is useful for when you are upgrading from the .NET user interface to AUX. It can be difficult to locate menus in the new AUX interface as the names have changed. However, with the Resource Mapping functionality, seasoned QAD users can search for the AUX equivalent menu that they used in the .NET interface.
One challenge of Resource Mapping is that it is not perfect – probably 80%. But it is a very solid tool for new AUX users.
In conclusion, QAD’s AUX interface provides Resource Mapping functionality that cross references menus used in the .NET interface with menus used in the AUX interface to allow a more seamless transition between the two.
