New Feature for Business Central Add-In in Outlook

Microsoft recently released the first of its two annual updates, 2022 release wave 1. Included in the update are many new features for Business Central.

Today, we are going to highlight a new function in the Outlook add-in tool that allows users to add email attachments to Business Central records.

Because almost all business correspondence is conducted via email, the inbox houses important information and files. It can be tedious to have to switch back and forth between your ERP and inbox, so Outlook has a Business Central add-in that allows you to easily connect email attachments to the relevant business records without having to exit out of your inbox.

With this new feature a part of the Outlook add-in, users have the ability to copy email attachments onto the record displayed in the add-in. The add-in will automatically display contact records that correspond to the email sender. Users can then select which records they would like to integrate over. 

This feature can be used for any email attachments, and also allows users to open the files in OneDrive in order to share with their fellow employees.
