For some reason, most people associate ERP systems with large organizations, but ERP is often used by small to mid-size firms, and Microsoft Dynamics GP saw the opportunity in these businesses, and created a solution for this niche market.

This past Monday, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2 was released, and there were a few exciting updates we wanted to share.

The first noticeable upgrade is the improved capability and functionality with Microsoft Azure. It’s now much easier to deploy Dynamics GP on Microsoft’s Azure cloud service, and you can attribute that to the new scripts and utilities designed for automating provisioning of Dynamics GP in Azure itself.

Microsoft also implemented some customer-requested features in the new update, including an all-in-one document viewer that shows all the purchasing documents for an individual vendor on one single form. The SmartList Designer feature was also strengthened, streamlining the production of SmartLists and Microsoft Excel reports.

There are now more visible updates of customers that have exceeded their credit limit, and new native workflows have been added into the mix that will help users better regulate Accounts Payable Transactions.

Additionally, there is a new Microsoft Dynamics Time Management app that allows users to keep track of their time and report it using a mobile application. The app has not released yet, but will be released soon, and you will be able to find it in the Windows, Android and Apple stores.

We are excited to see these new updates to Microsoft Dynamics GP with R2, and if you take a look at the roadmap below, you see we are right on schedule, and the R3 update is set for its release this later this year.
