Harnessing the Power of Microsoft’s Latest ERP Enhancements

Microsoft is constantly improving its ERP system to ensure that their product fits the needs of their users. In their latest release, Microsoft focused on developing new features while enhancing existing ones. In this blog, we will cover the improvements that were introduced in Microsoft’s YouTube series.
What’s new to Power BI?
You can now access your Power BI data directly within Business Central, instead of using separate applications. Once you install Power BI, reports can be accessed through Role Centers or Role Explorer. When you click the question mark on the report, you will be able to view the specific data that Power BI utilized to make your report.
Newest Feature: Copilot for Finance
As you go about your daily tasks, you probably switch between applications repeatedly without even realizing it. We constantly switch between applications and tasks throughout the workday. Studies show that toggling between applications interrupts workflow for about four hours a week. Now, Copilot for finance empowers finance professionals to streamline operations. It provides users with the information that they need, eliminating unnecessary application switching. This feature also includes a sidecar in Outlook that carries over information from Business Central, reducing the need to switch applications. Microsoft’s release planner provides a full breakdown of upcoming features, including integration to Teams.
Item Substitution with Copilot
Microsoft is integrating AI into Business Central in multiple ways to enhance the user experience. Copilot can now suggest alternative items if your primary item is out of stock or needs replacement. This accelerates the entire inventory process and eliminates time delays if a product is out of stock. To start using this tool, navigate to item substitution entry and click “Suggest with Copilot.” Instead of scrolling through a long product list, Copilot will suggest the best alternatives for your selection.
