Copying and Pasting Payroll Transactions from Excel
Posted on: February 15, 2022 | By: Jim Bertler | Microsoft Dynamics GP
Dynamics GP came out with an update in October 2021 that featured many exciting new updates to make the system more efficient and effective for users.
One of the exciting additions to the system that was introduced is the ability to copy and paste payroll transactions from Excel directly into GP’s system.
How Does This Work?
It is not uncommon for users to rely on external applications to track employee work time. Because of this, most people with a third-party time keeping system have to rely on Integration Manager in order to transfer employee data into the payroll system in GP.
Microsoft has added a new Paste button into the Payroll Transaction Entry window. In order to transfer data using this action, you must have your excel spreadsheet formatted with the following columns in this order: Employee ID, Trx Type, Code, Amount, Pay Rate, Department, Position, Date From, Date To.
Once you have your external data formatted like this, it takes just minutes to transfer the data into GP.
