Acumatica Review – Distribution

We are excited to continue working with the Acumatica solution and thought it would be helpful to post some Acumatica reviews.  While many reviews cover the product as a whole we thought it might be beneficial to review specific areas or functions of the software.  We decided to start with the distribution functionality of the system including inventory control, purchase orders and sales orders.  We have also provide a distribution fact sheet that summarizes all the functionality of  Acumatica's distribution offering.

As we reviewed the Acumatica solution we found the distribution functionality to be quite good.  While most cloud ERP solutions deliver the basic transaction processing we liked the added functionality offered by Acumatica.  Distributors often operate on tight margins and we find distributors are always trying to improve efficiencies  and streamline processes. A few examples of the functionality beneficial to distributors includes:

  • Built in rate shopping for Fedex, UPS and US Postal Service allowing a user to provide a freight quote while taking an order
  • Built in credit card functionality that is PCI Compliant and allows a user to instantly take the credit card information and receive transaction approval/denial
  • Workflow engine that is configurable based on order type, amount, vendor/customer, etc.

In our review of the Acumatica solution we found the distribution functionality was able to meet the needs of almost all organizations in the small and mid-market.  If you are interested in learning more about Acumatica and the cloud ERP market feel free to contact us
