3 Top Improvements Coming to Acumatica

 In our latest Acumatica blogs, we have covered Acumatica’s annual summit. The summit was two jam-packed days filled with keynote speeches and networking opportunities. During Acumatica’s Day One Keynote speech, we heard from John Case about the value of Acumatica Summit. In Part One of Day Two, we learned about various new updates to the ERP.  

In this blog, we will cover what’s coming to Acumatica this year based on the information provided at Acumatica Summit.  

Greatest Improvements to Construction 

Acumatica is focused on helping your business become more profitable and making sure you have all the information that you need. In 2025 Release Wave 1, Acumatica will help its users have more accurate and better billing processes. You can now utilize your time and material detail costs to populate your progress billing total. You can also generate an individual invoice from these proforma bills, where these schedules of values were built off of these costs. Additionally, beyond internal innovation, Acumatica also prides itself on strategic partnerships to strengthen their ERP. Two of these partnerships include JobPlanner and Stack. JobPlanner is tailored construction project management software that adapts to a contractor’s needs. Stack is a leading construction platform for estimating, operations, and building.  

What’s New in Professional Services?  

Since Acumatica’s latest release, they have published their new professional services edition- that is available now! New dashboards allow you to track resources and costs through Gantt charts that offer in-depth project scheduling and real-time resource management. Additionally, new timesheets in project manager allow you to view new work breakdown structures. The new dashboard allows you to stay on top of all your information on the same screen.  

 

AI Automation  

Acumatica’s AI advancements give you a new way to customize and automate your ERP application, while protecting your data. One of the greatest new developments is the ability to use AI to create action buttons within the ERP, without needing coding knowledge. For example, you can create the new button “Generate Closure Notes.” This button will allow you to gather information from a support case and produce a full, detailed result based on your data. This eliminates the need for a support engineer to manually write closure notes, review each activity, and explain how a problem was fixed.  

Instead, by creating the button, you can generate a full report on the time spent on the problem, the solution, the symptoms, and more. To add this action to your Acumatica, navigate to the AI Prompt Editor. Within the Prompt Editor, you can tell the program how you want this “generate closure notes” button to look, what you want the button to do, what items you want on your closure notes. Acumatica’s Day 2 Keynote has full instructions on implementing this new tool.
