3 New Tools from Microsoft’s Release Wave 1
Posted on: April 23, 2025 | By: Page Wildridge | Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
Microsoft just launched their first release of 2025, full of new features and improvements to Business Central that is sure to make your user experience better. Microsoft pairs each release with a YouTube series on the new features to ensure that users understand and know how to enable the new tools. In this blog, we will cover some of the best new features and where you find out more about them.

Autofill Tool
When a team member creates a new customer account, you can now click “suggest.” After, autofill will fill in information about your customer without having to enter it all in. Autofill pulls information from the web, most frequently used answers for the field, and Business Central data. Autofill is a powerful AI tool that utilizes its intelligence to make reasonable recommendations to save you time when working with the ERP.
Chat with Copilot
Now, you can chat with Copilot directly to help you find records and interpret your data more easily. Simply click the Copilot logo in the top right corner of the ERP. Then, ask the assistant any pressing question that you need an answer to. You can ask “which customer owes me the most money?”, “Does our customer ledger show any payments from them in the past week?” and more. Copilot uses the information from your Business Central to bring you the answer. Additionally, it provides the corresponding information that it pulled the answer from. Beyond questions about data, you can ask Copilot for advice within the ERP, like “what is the easiest way to get my customers to pay me for our work?” and Copilot will come up with suggestions.
Excel Reporting
Business Central offers a variety of different Excel reports to make your processes more efficient. These reports include “aged accounts receivable,” “vendor top 10 report,” “ Sales order performance analysis,” and more. All of these you can download and open in Excel after telling the ERP which information you want to pull from your databases. The Excel sheets break down your information with a printable version that is formatted for easy printing. It also provides the analytical breakdown that you can play with to understand your information better. For a more in-depth list of the reports that are available, check out the Microsoft video.
