Integrating Microsoft Business Central with Power Apps

Posted on: September 22, 2025 | By: Page Wildridge | Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

Microsoft Power Apps are flexible, low-code solutions designed to help you tailor your solutions to your needs. Just one component of Microsoft’s Power Platform, Power Apps helps you create tailored solutions without extensive coding knowledge. Additionally, you can integrate this product with Microsoft Business Central to take your efficiency to the next level. By integrating the two, you can display and directly manipulate your Business Central data within your applications. In this blog, we will cover the steps to connecting these two platforms together.

1. Create Your Application

Start on the Power Apps website or portal, and navigate to the Dataverse button. Once there, a panel on the left hand side will pop up to indicate what your Dataverse can connect to. Scroll to find “Business Central” and select “create.”

2. Choose Your Data

Select the data tables that you want to link with the app within Business Central, like vendors, customers, items, or sales orders. PowerApps will prompt you with the details that you want to collect within the app, so scroll or search until you find the information that you are looking for. Once you select this item, click “Connect.”

3. Modify Your Data

Modify within either application to create data in the other. If you need to create a new entry in Business Central while you are adding the information to the PowerApp, any revision that you make will be automatically adjusted within the ERP. The same goes for modifications within the ERP- they will be updated to the list that you are working with in PowerApps.

Why Build in Power Apps?

With the drag-and-drop interface, you can design screens, add fields, and create forms that capture or display Business Central data. Additionally, PowerApps helps you automate workflows that are triggered upon certain actions, approvals, or alerts across all departments.

Testing and Rolling Out Your App

Power Apps lets you share your new developments easily with coworkers by clicking “share.” This will help you send all the information directly to them with just a few clicks. Additionally, you can pilot the app with a small group, gather feedback, and refine it before wider deployment.

Next Steps

Microsoft Power Apps is a powerful tool for those who want to invent without having to code. Pairing the app to the ERP unlocks new capabilities and helps your organization stay connected.
