To continue our series on Production Floor Interface in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, we’re now entering the execution stage. For a refresher on the interface set-up, read our previous blog here.
Now that we have most of our setup configured in our environment, it is time to see what we have created. Head to Production Control → Manufacturing Execution → Production floor execution.

This display shows outstanding production jobs, completed production jobs, and will allow users to do work from this interface. The Sanitize button on the bottom left, driven by the setup, warns users to sanitize the device before using.

The Configure button allows users to select which configuration they want the interface to display. Referencing the previous blog, we will select the Default setup. This configuration will contain everything we have setup on the Configure production floor execution form.

After signing in, the screen will show all outstanding production orders assigned to the specific user that has signed in. This is why utilizing this Interface is so unique to Dynamics. Fully customized interfaces unique to specific teams, warehouses, or even individual employees.

As shown above, Start of Work, Break, Middle of Workday, End of Day, and Night Shift Dinner Break were all created within the Design tab of the configuration table. The buttons on the right, Report Progress, Bundle, Adjust Material, Start job, Activity, and Instructions were also created within the Design tab by assigning unique Actions against each Design. The buttons on the right allow employees to Start a Job, or RAF from their own hand-held device. Users now have the full capability to run the Production process from tablets within the Production floor, all out of the box functionality. The customization around the interface is driven by configuration, not code.
