MWUG – the QAD Midwest User Group – is hosting its Spring meeting this March. The MWUG Conference is a great place to network with QAD users, get new ideas and ensure your organization is getting the most out of the QAD ERP Application. Our plans for this year’s conference are bigger than ever. We have seven LC consultants speaking at the conference, are hosting a Post Conference Training session, and will be ending the event with a dinner where you can network and meet with other QAD professionals.

This 1 ½ day training event is focused on developing understanding of the fundamental business concepts related to manufacturing, how these concepts relate to ERP and specifically how they are handled within QAD Enterprise Applications.

The conference gives QAD users the opportunity to share success stories and case studies. Users also benefit from speaker sessions on various QAD related topics, as well as product demos from QAD Consultants.

Functional Training: For the Everyday QAD User

The goal of the training is to develop an understanding of the fundamental business concepts related to manufacturing, how these concepts relate to ERP, and specifically how they are handled within QAD Enterprise Applications.

The sessions will first focus on general business processes to ensure all participants understand the value they provide to the business and best practices for delivering such processes. The training will then drill into detailed concepts and the tools available in ERP / QAD to support the process.

Learn How QAD Supports Current Revenue Recognition Rules

Description: The QAD Revenue Recognition module automates many of the standard tasks required to support your financial revenue recognition requirements. This session will provide an overview of current revenue the current GAAP accounting rules associated with Revenue Recognition, the industries most impacted by the GAAP revenue recognition rules, which rules the QAD revenue recognition module supports and a brief demonstration on applying rules in the QAD application.

Processing Inter-Company Orders in Enterprise Edition

Description: This session will focus on processing inter-company orders for those clients that would benefit from a true buy/sell relationship between their QAD facilities. The session will focus on the utilization of Release Management, eCommerce and automation opportunities in EE Financials to process orders from forecast to inter-company payment.

QAD YAB Overview

Description: This session will focus on the basics of how to use QAD’s Your Application Builder(YAB) tool. YAB is used to administer QAD Enterprise Edition releases starting with QAD Enterprise Edition 2016EE and is the replacement for the QDT tool. We will review how to customize YAB for your environment and review how using YAB and provide a consistent repeatable method of installing and configure QAD.

QAD EE Implementation at NN Aerospace and Defense Solutions

Description: NN, Inc.’s Aerospace and Defense Solutions completed a rollout of QAD’s Enterprise Edition application for three US manufacturing facilities, to replace legacy ERP systems (Global Shop, Vantage and QuickBooks). NN was responsible for this project and decided to take a hybrid approach to implementation, leveraging both the Logan Consulting implementation methodology and a strong internal consulting team. This project was truly a team effort, where Logan Consulting supported the fulltime internal consulting team, with part-time Project Management assistance and Subject Matter expertise. This session will review the approach, challenges, results and lessons learned.

Success Story: GHSP Upgrade to Enterprise Edition – US and Mexico

Description: JSJ, Corporations Mechanical and Electromechanical Manufacturer (GHSP) recently completed a rollout of QAD’s 2017 Enterprise Edition application for its US and Mexico manufacturing facilities, to replace its legacy QAD ERP systems EB2.0 and EB2.1. GHSP was responsible for this project and decided to take a hybrid approach to implementation, leveraging both the Logan Consulting implementation methodology and a strong internal consulting team. This project was truly a team effort, where Logan Consulting supported the full time internal consulting team, with part-time Project Management assistance and Subject Matter expertise. Cyber & Data Security: Your Role using QAD’s Enterprise Edition Capabilities

Description: Cyber security events come in all shapes and sizes, and each type of cyber security event or mishap results in varied and often costly consequences. Data governance programs are key factor in preventing a reportable data breach and avoiding the financial losses and public relations disasters. Often, businesses are mistakenly complacent…assuming their technology department is responsible for most if not all cyber security preventative measures. The reality is that your business should depend on company-wide compliance with proper data governance programs. In this interactive session, not only will attendees be challenged to think about all the protected data stored in their ERP system, but the group will also discuss how to support a solid data governance program using the features of QAD’s Enterprise Edition application.
