Hitting the Apex on Variances

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT

For a manufacturing company to improve its profit margins, it needs to understand its manufacturing costs and how to manage and improve costs. The cause and effect of costing and manufacturing-related processes will usually cause variances. PO Price Variance, AP Usage Variance, Method Variance, and Labor Usage Variance are just a few examples. Understanding these variances really starts with understanding the meaning of each type of variance and their root causes. This session will discuss the different kinds of variances that QAD may generate, where they are generated, and how users can track down the root cause of these variances to reduce cost.

Success Story: QAD Technical Upgrade from eB2 to 2014SE

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM EDT

Chardon Custom Polymers is a long-time QAD customer who recently worked with Logan Consulting to complete a technical QAD upgrade from version eB2 to 2014SE. Chardon designed the project with the objective of eliminating risk related to its hardware and other outdated (or obsolete) software and increase application performance for its end users. This session will walk participants through the journey from the initial upgrade planning through implementation and final cutover. We will also discuss the project results, challenges we had to overcome, and process improvement opportunities we see with the updated user interface and functionality offered in the latest Standard Edition version.
