Just like that another summer season has come and gone! To make the transition from sunbathing to studying a bit easier, it’s important to act now. With the proper strategy going back to your school and work grind doesn’t have to be stressful. Here are a few tips on how to kick off fall 2017- the right way!

fall 2017

Get Organized

Remember that planner you bought in January? It’s time to brush the dust off it! If you’re more of a tech person use a mobile device or email calendar and start shaping your schedule now. This makes it easy to block out your schedule while simultaneously allotting free time for BBQs, happy hours, and concerts. Starting these habits now will allow you to carry these practices into the new year and stay on top of your game 24/7.

Ask Questions

The first day of a new class or job is nerve-wracking for anyone. Although overwhelming, it’s important to be bold and ask questions. It’s likely if you are asking other employees or students have the same questions, plus you’ll stand out to managers and professors for being the one courageous enough to take initiative. Reaching out to coworkers and peers early on helps you gain a resource for those tests and projects you just can’t tackle alone. Plus, developing your network opens opportunities up for future endeavors!

Radiate Confidence

Even with big changes happening in your life it’s important to remember that you can get through it. When facing new challenges, have confidence in yourself professionally and academically. Conquering these new challenges might not be easy the first time or two, but by making mistakes and adapting over time you’ll learn to overcome just about anything. Keeping a calm and collected demeanor throughout the challenges will show others you can tackle new feats with ease.

It’s time to put the flip-flops away and take the backpack out—Fall 2017 is in full swing!
