There has been a fair amount of talk in the market of late about Microsoft’s new hosted version of CRM called Microsoft CRM Live. Much of the “talk” has been started by SalesForce. I am sure SalesForce can’t be pleased that the world’s largest software vendor has set their sights on the hosted CRM market.
SalesForce has tried a big push in the press and, of course, most of it is negative. The truth is Microsoft CRM Live is an excellent application that is priced quite attractively. You can purchase Microsoft CRM Live for as little as $39 per user per month and $59 per user per month with Outlook Integration. The same Outlook Integration in SalesForce is dramatically more expensive.
In addition, if you get started with Microsoft CRM Live and want to switch to an on premise solution you have that option with Microsoft, but do not with SalesForce. Microsoft CRM Live and the on premise version of Microsoft CRM use all the same technology so data and customizations can easily be imported and exported.
