New Keyboard Shortcuts in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations

I’ve blogged before about the changes in navigation from AX 2012 to D365 for Finance and Operations, but I wanted to provide some insight into some of the changes regarding shortcuts in this new system.  If you want a complete list of all the keyboard shortcuts, please visit this Microsoft site

One thing that hasn’t changed is the ability to enter today’s date in a date field by simply pressing the ‘T’ button.  Many people are familiar with the option to export lists to Excel and this was made possible in AX2012 by pressing ‘CTRL + T’.  This has now changed to ‘CTRL + Shift + E’ – maybe that E will help you remember!  In order to refresh a form, you need to press ‘Shift + F5’.  A new shortcut key, that may prove quite useful, is the ‘CTRL + Shift + A’ which allows you to open the attach functionality quickly.  Instead of clicking that edit button at the top, simply click ‘F2’ to toggle the grid into edit mode.  If you need to save, press ‘CTRL +S’.  On certain forms, I find it difficult to enter the personalization mode, but by pressing ‘CTRL + Shift + P’ you can enter that mode quickly.  Lastly, ‘CTRL + Shift + O’ will enter you in the company drop down picker, so you can move between legal entities quickly.

I hope this blog has been helpful for those of you beginning to use D365FO!  For additional information please feel free to reach out to us at info@loganconsulting.com or (312) 345-8817.

All the best!
