In my previous blog, I demonstrated how to configure the financial period close.  Now that the workspace has been configured, let’s dive into the workspace to show the functionality available.

First, find the Financial period close workspace.  It is available in the general ledger module or on the workspace home page.

Once we enter it, you can see that this the overall layout of the form.  There are multiple statuses to view by.  You can manage your period close by company, area (module), or by the user.

I’ve clicked on the Status by area view to see all the tasks that are needed to be completed in the general ledger, the company to complete the task in, the employee responsible, and the due date.

If you click on the Task itself, it acts as hyperlink and will take you directly to that form to complete that task.  For example, once I click the Stop period task, it will direct me to the ledger calendar screen so I can put the period on hold.

It should be noted that I cannot check the box and set this task to Completed because the task is dependent upon other tasks being completed first.  You can see the error message that I receive at the top of the form when I attempt to do this.

Dependencies can be created in the financial period configuration or in the financial period close form by clicking the tasks and selecting Set dependency.

There are a multitude of dependencies to be completed before this task can be completed as well.
